Parents Code of Conduct at SAGF and SAGF Divisional Tournaments

The SAGF takes great pride in the quality of its players, host facilities and broad community involvement at each tournament. In order to continue making SAGF tournaments enjoyable for everyone, the Foundation requires all members and parents to adhere to a set of guidelines known as the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is to be followed throughout the entire stay at the tournament.

 Expectations from Parents:

  • Keep your distance (no nearer than 40metres) from your child while following him or her throughout his or her tournament rounds.
  • No advice is to be given to your child during his or her tournaments rounds. Do not interfere with other players nor get involved in rule disputes.
  • Do not walk in the fairways during the tournament rounds
  • Help spot balls
  • Encourage child to write thank-you notes to those persons who contributed to the success of the respective tournament.
  • Allow SAGF Rules Officials to administer rulings. You will be brought into a situation ONLY if the Rules Official asks you.
  • When on the course, turn off cell phones or turn ringers to the silent or the vibrate mode. Respect host facility's policy if cell phones are not allowed.
  • Adhere to host facility's dress code. Some facility's may not allow blue jeans, T-shirts, etc.
